Fellatio- I do not believe that can be a problem unless you spend a long time on your partner and you suffer from Reflux. I say add some whip creme or chocalate topping (perhaps a carob topping-to be safe) lol
And it is possible to get a yeast infection if we receive (being a female) make sure your Partner rinses his mouth with a good mouth wash. I once asked a GYN and it is possible that a women can get a yeast infection from receiving. That is the price we have to pay for love<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'm not staying that your sex life is deprived then again I'm not saying doctors are right... either way, but you know you've got to live life how you want to.. just don't inhale. That's all I'm saying on that.

Anyway I have had a loss of sensation in the boob area, definitely not as sensitive as it was pre-transplant, though sensation has come back somewhat. It starts at about nipple level and then from nipple to scar line is pretty numb, I can feel pressure but not.. actual touch in some places. But different people have different responses.

With my second transplant my sensitivity is all back. It took a few years with the first set of lungs. I never lost sensitivity on the nipple or around it just under the breast. I have heard that is normal to lose sensitivity but I do believe it all comes back in most cases.

I was surprised to see avoiding grapefruit and grapefruit juice was on the list of things to avoid when I was going over the many pages of info. the tx center gave us. Anna thinks that eating grapefruit should mean that you wouldn't need as much medication if it intensifies its effectiveness. I told it was probably something that couldn't be regulated to account for how much the grapefruit would affect the medicine. She will just have to eat as many grapefruits now and forget all about them after she gets a transplant. She loves grapefruit.

I've also read that tanning beds and suntanning was a nono as well. Anyone heard of this one? Not that she is a sun goddess or anything even close to that but she does do some tanning bed tanning, no even once a week though. It helps with the whole calcium, vit. D thing.

I would be surprised if there are a lot of CFers who use tanning beds... I know that if I'm in the sun for more than five minutes I fry pretty terribly due to the huge amount of antibiotics I'm always on. Tanning beds are pretty bad for people in general anyway.

What about tanning makes it avoidable after transplant?

My clinic was willing to make allowances for the grapefruit thing but I think it was a 'certain times, with levels checked' and then I'd have to eat grapefruit on a daily basis or something such as.. but I don't particularly like it so I never asked any further questions.

Tanning beds are a no-no. Since you're immune system is suppressed you're more susceptible to skin cancer, which is something they don't want. They even told me to put on sun screen when driving in the car! I pretty much ignore this one since I'm about as white as snow, I don't actively tan (keep meaning to lose the pasty cream puff look though) but I don't avoid the sun. I've been in a 'use common sense' mode since transplant..
