Mari - Hopefully the nausea will ease up soon. I hear ya on the dry heaving. I still do it occasionally to this day - only in the morning though. A coughing attack will trigger it. Though I did dry heave from heartburn a few weeks ago. Zantac has solved the heartburn lately.

Jen - Get in to see a chiro ASAP. Mine does webster and she said she gets lots of women like 38 weeks along wanting her to do webster and she says sometimes it can take a few treatments so she likes to see them as early as possible in pregnancy. I started seeing her around 26 weeks or so (I think). Baby was breech at that point (though that wasn't the reason I started seeing her) and turned around 30 weeks but I attribute her turning due to lots of walking I did in Disneyland. But good job for trying alternative methods! Have you been to spinningbabies.com? Hope you don't have to have a c/s. That is my biggest childbirth related fear. I heard second hand there is only 1 OB in my area that will do breech deliveries. They just aren't trained in it anymore. And malpractice insurance companies get a BIG say too.

Leah - I'm surprised at how good I feel too. I mean the asthma sucks and it is hard to bend over but other than that I am going to miss this. This will be our last child and I'm pretty bummed. I want to meet this baby but at the same time I don't want it to end. I remember mourning the pregnancy after I had my son. I really had to go through a grieving process.

I'm pretty excited about childbirth too. I was a little nervous till I had a dream the other night that I pulled her out myself and she came out smiling while Josh and Logan looked on. There was no pain. It gave me such renewed confidence in my body that "I can do this!". My midwife said she loves to hear dreams like that because it signals that the mother is taking on some responsibility for her birth rather than looking to her caretakers to do it for her or tell her what to do. When I had my son I looked to the doctor and nurses to tell me what to do and how to do it. But I've been on a sort of self discovery in the 3.5 years since my son was born and realize that I want to do this myself. I want the midwife there for support and some guidance but this is MY job.

Ack. I can't believe I'm going to have a baby soon.. for some reason she still seems kind of abstract.

HELLO, MY NAME IS PHYLLIS, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE PUT OUR STORY OUT THERE. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A SUPPORT GROUP TO HELP ME THRU ALL THIS. MY SON, SCOTT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH C.F. WHEN HE WAS 4 DAYS OLD. HE COULDN'T PASS HIS FIRST STOOL NO MATTER WHAT THE HOSPITAL WAS DOING FOR HIM, THEN HE STARTED VOMITING AND IT LOOKED AND SMELLED JUST LIKE B.M. HIS PEDIATRITIAN ORDERED A STOMACH X-RAY AND FOUND THE BLOCKAGE. WE WERE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE HOSPITAL BUT BY EARLY THE NEXT MORNING WE GOT THE PHONE CALL FROM THE DOCTOR TO GET SCOTT TO EGLESTON AS FAST AS WE COULD. WE LIVE ABOUT 90 MILES AWAY SO WE DIDN'T WASTE ANYTIME, OUR SON WAS ON THE VERGE OF DYING. HE HAD ALREADY BEGAN TO TURN A DARK LOOKING COLOR, SORT OF LIKE JAUNDICE. AS SOON AS WE GOT TO THE HOSPITAL THEY WERE WAITING ON US AT THE DOOR. SCOTT WAS RUSHED INTO EMERGENCY SURGERY. I REALLY THOUGHT THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I WOULD SEE HIM ALIVE. HE CAME 1 MONTH EARLY AND HE ONLY WEIGHED 5lbs 2ozs. BY THE TIME WE WENT TO EGLESTON HE WAS DOWN TO 4lbs 8 ozs. OUR LITTLE FELLA IS 2 YEARS OLD NOW AND DOING GREAT!! I FOUND OUT A WEEK AGO THAT WE ARE EXPECTING A BABY IN FEBRUARY!!! WE ARE VERY EXCITED AND LOOKING SO FORWARD TO THE NEW ARRIVAL, I AM SO WORRIED ABOUT THE LITTLE ONE, I HAVE READ ABOUT THE PERCENTAGES OF THIS BABY BEING BORN WITH C.F. ATLEAST WE WILL BE PROS AT TAKING CARE OF ALL THE TREATMENTS ANY WAY. IWOULD LIKE TO BECOME E-MAIL PALS WITH ANY OF YOU OUT THERE THAT COULD GIVE ME SUPPORT, IT WOULD HELP ME ALOT BECAUSE ALOT OF TIMES I FEEL SO DOWN ABOUT THIS DISEASE AND I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO OTHER THAN MY HUSBAND, SO IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN HELPING ME JUST E-MAIL ME. THNKS EVER SO MUCH, PHYLLIS SIMMONS MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS: ssixtyfiveroses@windstream.net

Hi all,
I am 32 years old and pregnant for the first time.

I am 14 weeks along, but in the hospital because my lung function had dropped 17%. It was at 83% when I got pregnant. I am worried because I am on a lot of antibiotics--Vancomycin, inhaled TOBI, and Ceftazidime. Has anyone else been on these drugs at all or this early in their pregnancy? I have also had some bleeding in my uterus from coughing so hard, which worries me a ton.

On the positive side, my baby seems healthy (3.2 inches long) and I found out it's a boy! My adopted son is 3 and very excited about having a brother. He is moving around and I was able to hear his heartbeat two days ago.

I have been having a lot of back pain, but I'm dealing with it.

Please reply, as I'm bored sitting in the hospital.

Jeana,
That's so exciting you are expecting a boy! I am sure your son will love having a baby brother to play with!

Sorry you are feeling sick in the hospital. My CF dr is helping me prepare for a pregnancy. I am currently figuring out my cycles and when I ovulate. I just finished a course of IV abx to get as healthy as possible. My PFTs are 70's. She said that the first trimester is the hardest time since she will relent to the OB drs who will try to hold off doing any antibiotics. It seems you are in the safer point in your pregnancy. At the 2nd trimester, my CF dr said she will step in if the health of her CF mom is in trouble. You have to be healthy too so it is a fine line.

TOBI seems ok since I don't think it goes as systemic as IV tobra. Are you being followed by high risk OB?

If you are bored, feel free to PM me. Where are you at?
