Question about cinnamon

I was taking it for about the last year (2 pills a day) when I started a whole bunch of new stuff (HS, treating CFRD, changing my vest settings, etc.) and during the last year, my fev1 went up 9%.

So, I read an article or 2 that say that cinnamon doesn't really help your bs, and about 6 weeks(?) ago I quit taking it to see if my bs numbers changed. No real change that I noticed, so I didn't buy another bottle.

At my last regular clinic appointment (3 weeks ago), my fev1 was down 8% (I contributed it to asthma at the time since I was SOB and it improved after my test when I used my inhaler, and a flare up for me is usually brought on by a cold, etc., which I hadn't had). At my 2 week follow up last week, my fev1 was up 2% (still down 6%).

So, thinking that I have not changed anything else during that time frame, I bought more cinnamon yesterday.

Am I nuts?

(I don't mean in the general sense, just in this, thank you <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0"> )

Take it for a few weeks and blow again. If it's back up, I'd say it's the cinnamon! LOL.

It's ok (and I personally think it's great) that something other than a rx could possibly help you. Why are so many ppl afraid of what is natural from the earth but they will readily ingest toxins because it is FDA approved?? If there was a hand smacking the smiley's forehead, I would be using that <here>, haha.

Hope you get back that other 6%, keep us updated!

I've got a week until I blow again *prays and crosses fingers*. If I'm not up significantly, it's picc time for me...I started it back last night- we'll see! I

really couldn't find anything regarding cinnamon and lung issues, so that's why I'm curious...

That's really interesting. I have not heard anything regarding cinnamon and lung function - only some studies involving blood sugar.

It's only cinnamon, it can't hurt to give it a try again. If it doesn't help though, I hope you aren't on IVs too long! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Feel better.
