Question for those who have met Dr. Warwick

From everything I've been learning these past few months, I know that Dr. Warwick is the best when it comes to CF care.

Don;t get me wrong, I love my clinic, but I do wonder what I could learn from him, and how much of a difference in Alexa's health it would make.. How did you guys go about meeting Dr. Warwick if you don't go to his clinic? Also, does insurance cover any of it, and if not, how much would it cost.

I'm not really concerned about the flight or hotel, but just what I would be looking at for the actual visit.

How would I go about getting an appointment with him? I've heard that he's pretty much retired, so is it hard?

Any information that you guys have would be great!

I called up the Minnesota clinic and just made an appointment.

My insurance covered it, but everyone's insurance is different. You can call up your insurance and get that info.

Amy- Are you seeing Dr Warwick? Or the guy who took over for Dr Milla? We took our CFer Aidan to see Warwick about a year ago and were thinking about it again. Do you have particular concerns or just want second opinions about things. Our son's major problems are his sinuses. I have actually done many of the things you suggested with HEPA filters, allergy testing ect...but to no avail. He is getting his second PICC and surgery next month at age 3. We also use Warwick's VEST but am curious because I heard something about a newer version from him??

2. I didn't have particular concerns other than I wanted to figure out why his patients lived so much longer than patients in the rest of the country. What I found out is that my HillRom 104 was inferior to the HillRom 103 and his Respirtech Vest was the best so far (so I bought one). I also learned more about NAC (which I started shortly after and it has helped immensely). And finally I learned exactly what I suspected - many CFers have undiagnosed allergies. I was allergy tested (skin test, not blood IgE which is useless) and treating my allergies has made a huge difference in my lung function

3. Have you had him blood or skin tested for allergies?

4. Which Vest do you have? His old HillRom vest or his new Respirtech vest?
