We have always used albuterol and mucomist in nebs 3 times a day along with his vest since the beginning. Once in awhile we use the tobi or pulmazine(sp?)and the hypertonic saliene in hospital. Tobi at home to sometimes.

Cass is 31/2 and she only does PM pulmozyme and the vest in the AM and PM. She didn't start pulmozyme till she was 2 because of some conjestion that she was waking up with in the morning. Other than that she hasen't started any other breathing treatments.

Since DS was a baby we've done 3-4 cpt/vest treatments a day with nebs. A bronchiodialator of atrovent and albuterol (duoneb) to open up the airways. So we've pretty much always done nebs. Currently we do CPT/Vest with nebs at 5:45 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. And throw in an extra one mid-day or middle of the night if he's sick.

He started Tobi nebs twice a day after his a.m. and later afternoon treatment when he was about 3 months old. This is every other month since he cultured non-mucoid pseudo. And he started pulmozyme once a day -- after his late p.m. CPT/vest treatment when he was 2 1/2 years old.

M is 6. He takes Advair from an inhaler twice a day. We do our pulmyzme in the am, only once a day. We do vests twice a day, which was only added in March when we brought him home from foster-care. Then, every other month, we do Tobi twice a day, which is the real bane of our existence around here because it takes *so* long.

When he came home, he was doing albeutoral and pulmocort twice a day or up to every 4 hours, pulmicort twice a day, pulmzyme once a day, Tobi twice a day every other month--all in the neb. Fostermom also had an oxygen concentrator for another child which she was using on him 2-3 times daily. He had no CPTs prior to homecoming. She was taught and instructe to use the precussor twice a day but never did so.

His doctors said there's no reason to add the HTS right now since his FEV-1 is 98%. I expect as life progresses, that will be the next thing they add, as well as likely increasing his vest treatments at some point.
