Margaritachic-

Is it called Mucomyst? Does it have a bad smell, like rotten eggs? I tried that but my son wouldn't tolerate the smell so he just does Xopenex. But I would love to get the NAC into him?

You've already gotten some good advice. My daughter started chest PT when she was a newborn. The nebs we didn't start til she was 2 years old; she was already having respiratory problems at the time, wish we had started them much sooner. I still do not like taking mydaughter to doc appointment; that's where sick people go! I always say, if you want to get sick go to the doctor(joke) I see nothing wrong avoiding taking your baby to the docs(unless of course she needs to go) especially since she's a baby, has CF, and it's cold/flu season. that being said; I have taken my daughter to the doc's for GYN appointments for myself, sick/well child appointments for my son, I just can't always get a babysitter and my husband works.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> I Purell her hands after, DEFINATELY avoid any kids toys in the docs office(they are rarely cleaned and sick kids play with them. I also, make sure she has lots of her own toys to play with, snacks to eat. Also, I do not let her touch elevator buttons at the CF clinic. She knows. Us CF moms , what are you gonna do?

we started the neb at 3 months. before any symptoms showed up.
At five years old, she still has no symptoms.I think the meds keep the monster disease at bay!
I believe early intervention is very important!

OK, now I'm getting concerned. My daughter is a little over 2 and she is not on any nebs at this time. We've been doing CPT since 2 months when she was diagnosed, but no nebs at all. I guess I'll ask about that at our next clinic in Feb. I'm pregnant with our second (no idea about CF in this one) and am curious- will I be able to do the nebs with her if I am pregnant? I didn't know if the fumes would be bad for me. Also, how long do you do nebs? Before or after CPT? I've always been really impressed with our clinic, but I sure hope Kate is not being put at risk with not using nebs yet.

Thanks,
