Hey,

It took my fiance and I 9 months to get pregnant. My daughter is now almost 5 months old & I am SO glad I got pregnant when I did. I was 22 years old and turned 23 while I was pregnant, my Cystic Fibrosis was considered "mild" (fev1 went to 83% during my 8th month of pregnancy!) and since having my daughter I have been sick Actually having sinus surgery tomorrow and have been on IV for the last 5 weeks with no improvement and coughing up blood everynight.. but anwyays... what I did to try and *help* me get preggers was take Robitussin 3 times a day and made sure to try and have sex when I was ovulating... I also started up some prenatal vitamins I got over the counter just so I was healthy and had all of those vitamins in me when I got pregnant. I was really worried that I wasnt going to get pregnant either, and then when my period was 17 days late, i took 3 pregnancy tests and they were positive!! HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE

So, give it at LEAST a year, in my opinion, to try and conceive on your own. It might just happen when you least expect it!

I was married for 5 years....on and off the pill....mostly off. We took almost no precautions at times. We had really decided that kids would not happen for us and he was always OK with that and I really didn't know that I might be able to have kids. I found out I was pregnant the week I graduated from grad school. I think if we had attempted to get pregnant that it would have been difficult for me and I would have been inpatient. The way it happened though....no pressure....just an unexpected miracle one week that changed our lives forever.

Yes, talk to your doc and I wish you the best.

Every time I came off the pill, my cycle was screwed up for about 8 months. I suspect I was not able to conceive during that time period. To echo what others have said, what I have heard is that 90% of women will get pregnant within a year if they are not using birth control. Five months isn't the point at which to panic.

Thanks everyone!!! I will try and be patient....haha! Tina Good Luck with your sinus surgery. I have had 2 of them and they aren't that bad.....i guess it depends on where you get it done. Does ur doctor think the blood is coming from your sinuses or what?? By the way your daughter is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! My cf is also considered mild~~ I haven't been in the hospital for over a year~and haven't been on any antibiotics for at least 6 months! Hopefully i can stay healthy enough for a pregnancy to happen.

Thanks everyone
