Questions to moms with cf

I was off the pill for a few years trying not to get pregnant (using other non-chemical forms of contraception). Then we tried for a about a year before I got pregnant. We had just started discussing whether to get fertility testing done when it happened. Back then I was pretty healthy other than my usual catch bronchitis regularly. I didn't know I had CF then either. The 9 months of pregnancy I actually felt the best I had in years. I think that's likely due to my need for sleep - I was getting at least 8 hours a day rather than my usual 4-5. The funny thing was during delivery - every time I coughed the babe would move down the birth canal further. My 2 hours of pushing didn't hardly do squat. So the docs & nurses had me cough and cough and cough to get her out!

I didn't know I had CF and with both pregnancies I felt WONDERFUL....for the first four weeks. Then I began throwing up and felt like hell for the next 8 months. I actually started fitness programs at the beginning of each pregnancy because I had so much energy. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

It took us almost 2 year to get pregnant with our son. We finally gave up trying and got pregnant-- pleasant surprise. We started down the fertility treatment path when we tried getting pregnant the second time-- too frustrating for us. One kid is blessing enough!
