haven't red the other replies but i just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.
socialized medicine is horrendous. it's economics 101 that you must have an incentive system for products to be produce efficiently. the government controlling healthcare removes this incentive system (this is why communism doesn't work - where the government is in charge).
talk to our friends overseas. they don't have the Vest. they don't have access to full panel genetic tests. they have lower life expectancies.
the free market works every time it's tried. i realize things aren't perfect as they are, but they're better than they would be if we had socialized medicine. incentives for drug development would decrease substantially and that's the opposite of what we CFers need right now.
i'm going to leave it at that as I really don't have the time to go on a back and forth debate. so if you reply to my post please don't expect a reply back from me.</end quote></div>
i'm just going to quote what NoExcuses wrote because that really says it all, we will be shooting ourselves in our cf foot if we go to a universal healthcare system. Look at where all the cf reserch is coming from, coorperations who are looking for $$$ for their work, not a handshake and small check from the government
Sakem, you're probably right about a democrat will be elected next, look at the history, after Regan George HW Bush was elected, Regan was a good republican president so the country was going to elect another republican, the fact that Bush was Regan's vice president just adds to his steam, same with after Hoover, a republican, no one liked Hoover, some blame the depression on him (btw, it wasn't his fault, it was our own fault) so we elected Roosevelt, a democrat, good thing too, Roosevelt led this country though a hard time, the depression and most of WW2, ok i'm done with the history lesson
