I have never seen the Hillrom vest in action, so I couldn't tell you about the noise, but we love the Incourage. I have heard people complain about the hoses popping off of the hillrom, our incourage has really strong latches, I think you could pick up the machine by the hoses. If I remember correctly, the Incourage actually comes with a smaller size vest than Hillrom does. Good luck with whatever vest you decide on! It's really made things a whole lot easier around here <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Hi Marla,
Zoe has the Incourage also. We love it! She started out with the size 20, now is in the size 22. The hoses clamp on, so they don't pop off all the time like the Hillrom does. Any issues I've had, they take care of immediately. They filed with my insurance company, did all the work for me, said if there was any problems with insurance, they would do all of the appealing, I wouldn't have to deal with any of it. There was never any issues, my insurance company paid 100% of it. If you watch Zoe's video at her web site: www.zoeforlife.blogspot.com towards the end there is a live video clip of her doing her vest. The man that helped us there was Josh, he was wonderful, he actually has CF. But I think Amy told me he had to leave from working.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

Love,

My son has the Respirtech and I have the Vest. I also have the jacket/vest to use his Respirtech so that when we travel we only take his machine. I don't prefer one over the other. The Respirtech is definitely louder running and the periodic beeps are loud that the Vest does not make. FOr a little one though I think the Respirtech is better due to the locking hoses. Although my son has figured out the buttons on the Respirtech but is still unable to press the Vest button so I guess you have to pick your battles. The carrying case for the Respirtech is far superior. Also as you know the Respirtech is supposedly most effective although the wavelength stuff with the ribs etc. I think is hard to prove. Personally I like that supporting Respirtech is putting money in Warwicks pocket. For all that he's done for CF, he deserves it! (FYI my understanding is this is part of the reason the Incourage was invented. Thairapy Vest became The Vest by Hilrom and Warwick no longer got a cut so viola....Incourage.)
