Scandishakes

Emily doesn't like them either, sadly. And she doesn't eat ice cream unless it's in the form of a DIB (those little choclate covered things), so that didn't work for us, either. Interestingly, she's a fan of spicy food, too, most of the time. Loves garlic on anything! Weird kids.

Even as an adult....those scandishakes ARE disgusting. They are way too sweet and thick for me! I prefer to chug an Ensure Plus

On a side note, I am in love with spicy and salty food, must be a CF thing!

Emily HATED the Boost 1.5's that she was just given and eventually got really, really tired of Carnation.

She loves Scandishakes, at least for now, but they fill her up so much (that 'thick' factor no doubt) they are completely counterproductive: she takes more calories for the day when she just has real food. The Scandishakes with anything added (i.e. ice cream shakes) don't work at all- she won't drink more than 2 sips- too thick and creamy, I think.

Heather: Emily hates those Chug shakes~ I tried those too! My boys, however, who do not need them, adore them. However, she LOVES the choc milk she finds at my aunt's house and will drink about 3 cups in one sitting every time she goes over there... 'skim that tastes like 2%.' Yeah, she *really* needs skim milk, doesn't she?! (at least it has added protein, 12g per cup vs. the 8 that's in typical milk.)

Emily doesn't like things extremely spicy but likes a certain selection of herbs on almost anything: for example, she LOVES basil, I've discovered, and will scarf down enormous quantities of chicken (baked, soup or stew!) with basil added to it and loves a drop biscuit recipe I doctor up with shredded cheese, basil, oregano and black pepper mixed into the batter. Finding something they really like will make a big difference!
