Just remembered a quick and yummy snack that's quite light:

Get a bottle (about 250mls) of your fave smoothie (I love innocent strawberry and banana) and simply stir it with full fat bio yoghurt in a big glass to make about 500mls. This can provide about 425 calories but it doesn't taste all fatty and puddingy like the typical milkshake concoctions. Sometime I add a tsp or two of flaxseed oil to it which makes it about 500kcals. Very high in calcium and slow release carbs with vit C and fibre, too!

Also I have discovered that tahini (ground sesame) is even better than butter with marmite on toast, so a generous spread of that gives about 90 kcals, and is packed with protein, healthy fats, and calcium.

I have two slices of toast (200kcal) with tahini (180) and marmite. Thats 380 delicious and healthy calories and it's not that filling.

I just created this concoction if you are an easy no bake cookie fan!

2 1/2 -3 cups sugar
1 stick of butter
1 packet of any flavor but i choose chocolate protein powder of choice ( for an an 8 oz serv.)
3-5 tablespoons milled flax seed

melt these on low heat till they dissolve together then boil for 2 minutes then remove from heat.

add 1/2 cup peanut butter
and teaspoons vanilla

mix till all is melted in together

add 3-4 cups oatmeal and mix in

spoon out on wax paper and let sit.

other fun additions are coconut shred, any type of nut, macadamia or cashew are great. Also try using a muesli instead of the oats there are already fun things added to that.

they may be more chewy than the original no bake but still delicious

That looks nice, mind you it's a shame your little one's a bit young to try them right now! I'm sure he'll grow in to them <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
