No matter what you post, there's always going to be someone who is going to twist it around and get offended.

Yes, your the queen of this.

But u know what I have always found odd......when Jerry Cahill posts, if it not read by many, nor solicits many responses. This man is not only amazing but an inspiration. My take on this is that A LOT of people don't like positive things, they are jealous.....Misery loves comapany, cause as u all know, he is in the very rare exception, and its' all Luck that he has done so well with his life.....Not that we need to be bowing down to him as the CF savior, but he is a great example of what one can overcome with CF.......JERRRY CAHILL IS THE MAN!!!!

Vicki, I hope you receive your transplant soon <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

When a person starts posting on this site, you are just another name on a board. But after interacting with people you feel comfortable with and over a period of time, people get to know you better and will respond to your posts.

I know that I am just another name on a forum but I try to post where I can. I hope you stay on this forum and persevere a bit more.

I lost my daughter at the age of 14yrs and my Kj has cf so I feel life is too short to argue with people so I just avoid the posts I don't want to read.

Take care and please stay <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Just wanted to point out the irony here...this topic is about people overreacting and getting pissy about the comments of others and look what's happening, even within the DISCUSSION about it!! It's not that I don't take the issue seriously, but for some reason I find the thread comical. (am now wondering if my posting this is going to get people upset with me, lol.)

I do agree that sometimes people say things that can be unnecessary but what makes us adults is that a lot of times someone calls that person out, and then they apologize for saying it. I have seen that happen a number of times.

Also, yes it is a popularity contest and it is the best kind I feel. Those that get more posts are those that should because they spend more time on the site. Let's say that Teri (kayleesgrandma) and I posted the exact same distress thread. Hers would get more attention and it should in my opinion. She takes the time to respond to almost every blog, a ton of threads, and she is in chat a lot. Obviously more people are going to know her. It doesn't mean that not as many people care about me, but that no one knows me as well.

I feel that a lot aspects in life are popluarity contests but the great thing is, they are no longer based on looks or money (as in high schoo), which means you have more control over if you are "popular" or not.
