I bought mine at the Target just down the street from where I live. Mine's a water pik made for 'oral rinses', but with the right nozzle it works for sinus irrigation as well.

The xylitol plus saline suggestion has worked wonders for me when I had a sinus infection that was really out of control and couldn't get to the doctor yet. Plus I think it's actually more comfortable than saline alone - doesn't make me gag as much when it goes down my throat.

My doctor (allergist) wanted to put me on nebulized antibiotics for my sinuses. My insurance (Aetna) won't cover it because they consider it experimental, but I know that some insurance plans do pay for it. She said she had seen unbelievable results with this treatment, so it might be worth looking into. Allergists can be kooky sometimes, but the nice thing is since they don't do surgery, they sometimes have a few extra tricks up their sleeves to avoid it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I did have surgery in college, though, and it was absolutely worth it. Sometimes that's your only option.

Good luck,
Sarah

Was your dad actually tested against CF or did he have the minimal screening panel.there are over 1500 mutations for CF. Sounds like he needs an ENT doctor. This is a response to a very old message 2006.
