Sinus rinses/Nasal irrigations

I love sinus flushing!!! Yes, I know I am weird....

My ENT gave me a recipe for making my own saline flush. I do it every morning and sometimes again in the afternoon if I get stuffy. I use one of those baby bulb syringes (have to make sure it gets cleaned out after every flushing though). Everyone gags when they watch me do it... it is my sweet revenge.

I have gotten my hubby (no CF) to flush his sinuses once... he didn't like it. I haven't gotten Kiddo (no CF)to try it.

I occasionally have the "gunk" go down my throat.... just spit it out. This usually happens when my sinuses are plugged!!!

My breath is better after flushing and I don't have the goofy taste in the back of my throat when I flush consistently.

I am picturing my boys reaction when they catch their sister doing this... They are in 4th and 6th grade; the in one nostril and out the other is something they will just be fascinated with in a grossed out-but-they-love-it kind of way.

However, CF or not, based on everything you have said- my 11yr old has such constant congestion I can see him benefiting from this.

Thank you for all of the input on brand names. I wish the clinic offered me something- unfortunately they did not! I'll have to see what our pharmacy sells.
