sinus surgery anyone?

I am thinking I've had about 8 or 9 sinus surgeries. A couple were mainly for my polyps but the most recent surgeries were to clean out all of the nasty junk up there. One time when he was up there he stitched my septum to the side of something to help straighten that out.

Overall my surgeries were pretty trouble free. Just once I bled a lot and that worried my doc, but I recovered just fine. It has been 2 years since my last "roto rooter" but I feel as though there could be another one in my future. We'll see, I go to ENY on Halloween.

Good luck up there.

I've had 4-5 of them, and few times the Dr's has done it in the office. I prefer the surgery my self. One of the more recent times, I remember walking out of the Hospital and it was a chilly day, and I could feel the cold air in my sinuses. That was a completely new thing for me, and it was really nice to see how other people feel with them all clean like that. I personally love it after I have one I feel like I can actually breath through my nose. I think I need one again, its been about 3 years since my last one. But I do feel like I can't smell as well before hand, usually I have a sinus infection so I can't smell that well to begin with... some time I wish I had one of those bogger suckers to suck out all the snot! But If you are on the fence of getting one, talk to your Dr to get more information so you feel more comfortable with it.

Best of luck in getting the suckers out! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My 5 year old has had polyps removed once & yes, they were reluctant to do the surgery because of the affects of anesthesia on lungs BUT you have to weigh the risks with the benefits. If it's going to benefit you then it's worth it.

That's exactly how I felt after my surgery! What a wonderful feeling it is!
