Sorry you are going through this crap Diane. I always have my picc placed via interventional Radiology (i would never let it be done any other way).. I take something to relax me before the procedure, because i get crazy before i go in to have it placed.
Can i ask, have you considered a port? I had one and loved it (it had to come out due to a dvt <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">)
You have every right to be upset over everything you are going through.. I know lots of ppl have it worse (i tell myself the same thing) but their are also many ppl who have it easier.. Your fears, pain, frustration are real and deserve to be heard..

I know how you feel about getting new stuff done to you.. It's very traumatic. It's like you know others may have it worse, but if something is new to YOU, it can be scary and / or overwhelming... So sorry to hear Diane. It can really get rough, especially so for the older CF's. My left arm is basically shot midline wise, last time they couldn't get one in. And I don't use IV's all that often, so I can only imagine how bad your arm is vein wise. Sorry you are having such a bad time.
