Skin Problems

Update, fyi...Just got back from the beauty school. I had an hour long deep cleansing facial and it was $20. And my skin feels great -- clean and my face isn't spotchy and red. I usually go to my dermatologist's office for pore minimizing facials which cost $60 and I leave with my skin feeling greasy. Guess I won't be going back there for facials.

Ok can you say water, water, water, drink lots of water. What you put into your body is going to affect what comes out. I used to use all the over the counter stuff, then went to the Dr, then Proactive came out which was the best thing I used out of all the other stuff, but still didn't cut it. But then I started paying attention to what I eat and drink and my skin has been a lot better. I also started using a product called Arbonne. It is completely 100% Vegan freindly, no animal bi-products and no animal testing, no alcohol, no harsh chemicals. My skin did a huge turn around. Also be sure to change your bed sheets at least once a week, your pillow is a breeding ground for dirt, oil, and bacteria, and your face is on that every night. Do not over expholiate your skin, if you dry out your skin your body will think it needs to produce more oil. If you use hair spray try to keep it off your face and put a towel on your back with spraying it on. I still have the monthly break out issue, and when I am on IV's, but other than that my skin looks soooo much better!!!

I know not too long ago I posted about Proactiv but I must take back what I said about them being the BEST face wash/product I have tried.

I never really had bad skin issues when I was younger and to be honest I rarely if ever washed my face and do not remove my make up before bed most nights (I know a cardinal sin of face care - what can I say). I started having major acne issues after transplant with all the prednisone and I was NOT wearing make up either and I started washing my face religiously to no avail. I tried several different face products - including the Proactiv like I had done before and nothing helped.

Then enter my new favorite face product. It is by Grassroots and is called The Best and Brightest. It is a face scrub and I used it every morning in the shower. I ust squeeze out a bit either onto my fingers and massage it onto my face or I get one of those scrubby hand glove things for face washing and use that to apply it. I started using this face scrub about 1 month post transplant and can honestly say my breakouts have stopped. They are almost completely cleared up now. Since I started using it I have not had any breakouts really and my skin has been able to heal where I had the blemishes before. For me it has helped with everything blemishes and blackheads and all. It is not the cheapest stuff - costs $15 a container - but to me it is completely worth it. I buy mine at Kohls in the beauty department but you can get it online too grassroots.com I think is the website.

Hope something that someone suggested helps you out. It may not so much be a CF salt thing so much as it is just your skin. Then again it could be medications or it could be a CF thing and I have no clue what I am talking about - which is completely possible lol.

Take Care,
Lindsey

Hmm... I often use glair to remove blackheads from my face. Because as far as i know egg whites can also help remove dead skin cells, dirt (cause of acne), and whiten your face. That’s why it becomes one of the natural blackhead removal. In term of the easiest way, you only need to rub glair on blemishes, for about 15 minutes, and rinse with water. For better efficiency, you get glair by a thick layer on the skin (usually 2 sides of the nose) and then take a small piece of tissue paper to place on it. Wait for the mask to dry completely, lightly peel the layers off the nose. Dried glair will pull blackheads out quickly. (Source: https://authorityremedies.com/home-remedies-for-blackheads/)

Have you ever tried this?
