I don't know if any of you have had this problem before but here goes. This weekend I watched Graycie and she had really smelly bowel movements. Normally, its not a problem but the odor seemed to linger forever in the air. My question is since we can't use sprays or carpet freshners how do you get rid of the odor? I changed her in my room and got rid of diaper and clothes but the odor was there everytime I walked in. Any suggestions? I thought about baking soda on the carpet but I don't know if that is the best answer, since it was in the air and not on anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I remember walking into DS' daycare when he was a baby and could tell that he'd left a diaper present for his caregivers.

I can't recall if we ever did do anything. I don't burn candles around him or use air fresheners when he's in the house... I do recall wiping out his diaper genie with antibacterial wipes. I just don't recall the smell lingering around that long...

Both my daughters have stinky poo! My 4 year old always has, my sister used to always comment she smelled...I guess we were just used to it! We had some scented diaper bags from the dollar store at one point. They fit one diaper, then you would tie them and throw them in the trash, worked pretty well. Now I spray the bathroom with air freshener when she is done...after she is out of the room. I don't let her go near the room til it has settled. Otherwise no problem with it lingering, just the initial stink!
Maybe some got on something that you missed?? Maybe some plug-ins? or other air freshener of some sort that is not spray.
Hope you get the stink away! It is very typical for a CF child to have smelly bowels. (I think sometimes it may mean she needs more enzymes...not sure on that though. I know that is one of the questions on our form for the clinic...is if she has bad odor bowels.

HAHAH! Are you saying my kid stinks??? I don't normally do anything. Does my house stink when you visit? I hope not. Grayson does have major stinky butt. Poor baby. I usually bag stuff. Hope we get some ideas that we can use.
