swallowing enzymes

I am sure this has been a topic before, but I could not find it....
When did your kids begin to swallow their enzymes and how did you teach them to do that?
Luke is 19 months old and I have read that some kids are swallowing their enzymes by now. We are still doing the applesause thing and it is really no big deal, but I am just wondering if it is better to start now instead of when he is older and more stubborn.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
But I don't have any idea how to get him to do it--did you still put the whole capsule on something like applesauce? He takes oral liquid meds. without any fuss at all--in fact he insists on holding the medicine spoon himself. So I am just thinking that now may be my golden opportunity to get him to do this.
Any suggestions?

I started by putting the whole capsules on a spoonful of applesauce when DS was 2 1/2 or so. And one day we were out and I just tried giving him one enzyme at a time and he did great..

My daughter could do it at age 2 but then REFUSED until we pretty much forced her to try them again at almost 5.5 years old. She was stubborn about it but once she tried it again she realized that it is easy. I do have a really good pdf document on getting kids to swallow capsules, if you give me your email (PM might be the best way to send it to me) then I will email it to you.

My daughter just started doing it regularly.

First we started by forgetting the applesauce and just dumping the beads directly into her mouth, followed by a swallow of drink. She did this for a LONG time, from like a year till almost 3years.

Then I got a wider straw (like McDonald's has) and dropped on pill into the straw and keeping my finger on the top, dipped the straw into a tall drink so that the straw had about 2/3 fill of fluid and the pill floating at the top. Then I'd put it in her mouth and she'd suck the drink out (I'd move my finger so it just rushed out) and she'd swallow drink and pill at once.

Then she realized she didn't need it in a straw and just put a few pills in her mouth and took a swallow of a drink. And voila! Life got much easier!!!!
