His uncle never had genetic testing done. He was diagnosed in the late 70's at CH of Philly thru a stool test and a sweat test. From what I can gather, they just didn't have the genetic testing then like they have now. He was diagnosed with a CF variant, but we don't know the mutation.
Also, yes, he fathered all of his children naturally and all were screened at birth for CF, as was his wife when she had their first child. She is not a carrier.
