Haha - I already have a few pieces on my back. I handle back pain very well. I will never get a whole giant size piece, but more like sprinklings of ink that will eventually turn into a back piece. I love tattoos. They are so addicting!

my latest idea for my first tattoo (its always changing-the only reason i havent gotten it yet) is to get this quote on my foot kinda in a script wave-ish thing.

"and in the end, its not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years." -abe lincoln. that might not be word for word, but obs when if/when i get it i will make sure its word for word. i love this quote and always have, i think its very true and keeps me motivated that even though my life may be short it doesnt matter because the only thing that matters is what i make of it. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I love these pix! You guys are so inspirational. I've always wanted a tatoo, but have never been able to commit to a design. I'm also freaked out about the quality of the work. So many of the kids at school have them and I've seen some awful work. Maybe I'm just chicken

This is why you have to shop around, go into tattoo studios, take a look at all the portfolios, and if you have a bad feeling about a shop, walk right out and go to the next one. Kids have shooty work, because I'm sure a lot of them get them done in a basement, or don't bother to research the studio they go to. You pay for quality, and if quality means taking your time and finding the right artist, then its worth it.

I went to a tattoo parlor via recommendation of my sister, who
works in a law firm.  All of the lawyers and paralegals went
to this place, and I figured the artists must be good otherwise
they'd get sued! LOL!  Like Liz said, shop around, and take a
gander at the clientele.  Also, if you ask the artist for a
portfolio (they should all have one), you can see their type of
work beforehand.

Colin, I'm not sure if I've seen this exact picture before or not, but if not, then I've seen one just like it.

Whether it was yours or not doesn't matter, because this picture looks exactly the same. And I just wanted to say... it's frickin awesome. I love it! Love love love.

Here is the picture of my tatoo. He is a toad that was designed and tatooed by a guy named Toad...He is also 13 years old this coming month. I call him George...

This is my tattoo that I got done one year and one day after my sister Jennie died. The eagle is part of the verse underneath it. The verse was Jennie's favorite verse during her transplant and after until the day she died. I was going to get her birth date and death date under the verse, but decided it wasn't necessary. This was my first tattoo and it took 2 hours.
