I wake up hungry, so I eat first, then do half my treatments (Xopenex, HS and Advair) and I go swim, then I come home and do my vest and Pulmozyme (that's 2 days a week- the 3rd day I excercise in the afternoon, and I'm working on excercising on the other days...) On a perfect schedule , I would like to do all my treatments before I go excercise, but I like my sleep too much .

I don't drink coffee, but I do have a Chai tea latte in the mornings, usually 3 hours after breakfast. Since I like the regular better than the sugar free, I save it for my midmorning snack (with a small, whole grain blueberry muffin usually). When I have my snack depends on how my sugars are doing (I can crash right before lunch if I don't watch it). Since it has caffeine, I figure that I shouldn't have it first thing in the morning (after the study that said caffeine can cause higher bloodsugars, and that is my worst time).

I do my treatments first, then eat. If I'm sick, I have too many problems with keeping food down to risk losing any to a treatment induced coughing fit. Even on an empty stomach, I can gag pretty bad. I usually exercise a few hours after breakfast, to once again, avoid the coughing fit induced throwing up if I get too out of breath, but I want to have some carbs in me to stave off a low.

I usually wake up and TRY to do all treatments and nebs right away, but if I wake up super late or really need that jolt (which happens quite a bit), I have an espresso first and spend at least an hour waiting for coffee and pastry of choice to digest. After that, I'd do treatments.

I usually exercise later in the afternoon, several hours after my morning treatments. It would probably help if I did another treatment before I went to the gym, but in the interest of time I usually do not.
