I wake up & do all my nebs (except Tobi) then after taking Jazz to school I do my vest. I drink my coffee while nebbing. I eat after my vest.

As a rule I only eat 2 meals a day. Brunch/Lunch & Dinner & then a big late snack.

After I eat brunch I do my exercising. Minimal, but beneficial thanks to Chaggie

Nighttime is the same except if there is any real break inbetween my nebs & vest is usually for a shower. Otherwise I do one right after the other.

Dinner is hours before my night time treatment so I eat my snack when I get to bed!

My tummy doesn't like to eat right away in the morning. If it is a work day, I get ready, do my treatments/vest, attempt to look pretty (why did I chop my hair off?!), take Lantus and my morning pills/vitamins as I head out the door. I just started on an insulin pump two days ago, so no more Lantus for me! My BGs (blood glucose levels) are usually fairly stable, sometimes even rise (without intaking carbs), in the morning.

I usually eat my breakfast on my way or first thing at work, along with my coffee (must have caffeine) which I sip on for most of the morning. If my morning BG was a little high, or if I am having a high carb breakfast, I would take my Novolog 10 minutes ahead of eating to give it a head start in my system before I dive in.

I have been really good at counting my carbs recently and keeping track of my levels (I test usually 7-9 times a day. (My goal is to get an A1C of 6.5 for the health of my lungs) I have not seen a difference in my BG numbers if I have caffeine or not. Although, without caffeine I get a wicked withdrawal headache! I think there are too many other factors that have a higher impact than caffeine on me, like stress.

The addition of Prednisone has made a HUGE difference in my numbers. I've been on it for about a month now, 10mg everyday after a short burst, one day left thank goodness! Strange that I find I have better control over my numbers when I am on Pred though even though my insulin doses double. When on Pred, I made sure to take the pill right when I would take my Lantus shot (in the morning otherwise I would forget it), which I found really important in keeping my baseline BG down.

I don't usually have/make time to exercise unless it is right after work. Why does work seem so often to get in the way of taking care of myself?! Ack!
