My daughter is 8, and we will be receiving her wish in March. I figure, she has already been through a lot..... 4 sinus surgeries, 2 hospitalizations last year alone (18 days in March for tune-up and 11 days in November for G-Button and Sinus Surgery), lots of medication, lots of pricks, etc.

The social worker at TCH nominated her, we met with Make-A-Wish, filled out forms, and will be going to Disney World March 10 - 16.

Take advantage of this before they get sicker, my opinion, but that is what I have done!

Lori,
I will let you know how it goes, when it finally gets scheduled. My son loves cars and motorcyles, so he wants to go see West Coast Choppers and meet the owner Jesse James. (Sandra Bullocks husband). Hoping she is somehow involved!!!!!!

just to let you know, I spoke to a coworker who volunteers with the local make a wish and she said that yes they do consider cf to be a " qualifying illness" she has personaly taken news of the granted wish to dozens of families. They make a big ceremony out of granting a wish. She did say that it does make more difference if a medical profecional or social worker nominates the child. They just sent a cf child to diney in CA for christmas. They also advise that if the child is eligable to do the wish sooner than later. They would prefer to make a memory to last instead of a last memory. She does wonder if the child's age had a part in the decision as she would not remember it. If you are still interested she says to contact cf clinic and have social worker fill out the forms. hope it helps <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
