I absolutely cannot BELIEVE someone would do something like that, dramamama! I want to believe people are generally good, but when I hear something like this, it really makes me wonder. Not only was her response rude, inconsiderate, and completely ignorant, it was VANDALISM.
I'm so sorry you had to go through that experience. People just don't know any better and I'm sure we've all made assumptions about another that were incorrect. But it is completely unacceptable, even if she were absolutely POSITIVE you didn't have a disability and were abusing the use of that parking space, to vandalize your property.
I have these little cards that are meant to be placed on car windshields when someone parks in a spot without a placard displayed or without the disabled license plates. It just reminds them that if they are disabled, they need to remember to put up their placard and if they're not, they are making life a lot more difficult for someone who actually needs that parking space. I got the cards from the disability rights organization I used to work for. I've only actually used one once. Anyway, the point is that there are much nicer ways to remind someone when they are doing something wrong (especially if you don't really KNOW they're doing anything wrong). What that woman did was abhorrent. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0">
