As usual, I completely agree with "Alyssa". My son wasn't dx until he was 15, because he didn't present with obvious CF symptoms.

I hope you can find some answers. Like Alyssa said I think you should push for a full panel genetic test. It does sound like your children could have CF.
I do hope the test will be negative.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I talked to Maritza's doctor today and we have an apt on Monday for the sweat test. Everything is moving so fast. The possibility of CF only entered my mind yesterday and now on monday she is already going to be tested. I do think that her docter already suspected it though even though she did not tell me. When I talked to her today she said that the testing would be part of the pulmonology apt. (which she made the referall last wendsday and I still havent heard anything) but she would call and it the apt wasnt going to be for a few weeks that we could go ahead and do the sweat test before her apt.

How long does it take to get the results back?

Will they let me know over the phone? We live and hr away from the hospital where she will be tested.

What can I expect?

Any and every detail would be appriciated. I am going alone and I am very nervous. I never drive on the highway let alone by myself. My husband starts first shift on monday and he cannot call in to his first day on a new shift. We have been waiting almost 5yrs for him to get on 1st and it is finaly happening.
