Hey all,
Thanks again for your support when I was in and out last month.
I've been home a couple of weeks now and its been lovely, my other half has been back at work this week but my mum has been great in helping out with Abi.
Mum has Abi today I had a lovely lie in and i've just been chilling out with my feet up most of the day. I'm trying to wean down on my o2 useage too as then Abi and I will be able to get out more. I've weaned down a bit on my steroids and am only on 50mg prednisolone a day now. I'm still on the gent nebs but off Ivs and the pneumonia seems to have completely gone now which is good i'm still coughing up a load of crap but it doesn't taste so bad now so obviously isn't anything too nasty. My fev1 has also gone up to 31% my x-rays are showing a whole load of pressure from the baby so alot of the reduction in lungfunction will be to do with that I think.
I'm seeing the consultant anethatist (spl) tomorrow afternoon between her and my chest team they are going to be the ones now who primirily make the decision when to deliver me. I'm 28 weeks this weekend so getting there now. I then see my obs consultant on wed when we have another scan and i'll have the steroid injections to mature the babies lungs.
Although all of this has happened we've managed to potty train Abi which is great and just in time
I hope everyone is well and not feeling too huge!
Sending big hugs

I'm so glad you're feeling better. I can't remember if you told us but your FEV1 wasn't this low when you got pregnant, right? Is it because of all you have gone through lately? How long are the docs thinking you can carry the baby? How about you - what is your goal?

So glad you could potty train Abi! Logan turned 3 in Feb and isn't fully PTd He absolutely refuses to poop on the potty. He is in underwear all the time, even at night and pees in the potty just fine by himself even. But won't poop. He asks for a diaper to be put on him. Its frustrating but I know he'll get there in time. No rewards have tempted him at all either. Oh well.

Wanted to add:

Since you are facing the possibility of having a preemie I highly suggest you spend some time looking at this website: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.kangaroomothercare.com/

It is by Dr. Niles Bergman, a South African doctor who is the "founding father" of Kangaroo Mother Care. Their program in SA has seen a five fold increase in the survival of very low birth weight babies (from the website). All his stuff is backed up by research - very interesting!
