VACATION IN CALIFORNIA

I agree that Hollywood is a "can miss". It isn't all that nice of a place to visit. Unless you have something specific on your list that you have to do there, I'd skip it.

California is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

My boyfriend is from CA, so I've been a couple of times. We are going again in August.

If you're going to San Diego, you MUST visit the nearby town of La Jolla. It is the most beautiful place I've ever seen. I've looked up pictures of La Jolla on the internet, and none of them actually do it justice - You have to see it in person. The sunsets there are gorgeous... I can try to find some of my vacation pics if you like and I could send them to you.

We also visited Universal Studios - I didn't think it was all that great.

I love southern CA - I could live there. LA is nasty, though, just to let you know in advance.

I grew up in Northern CA, but I visit family down in Southern CA. I've never been to the SD Zoo, Sea World is a lot of fun. And also there's the Wildlife Park which is like going on Safari (extremely fun). If you want to do some shopping, there's the Bazaar Del Mundo and Old San Diego which has people in costume. There is Lego Land for the kid inside of you. And if you happen to pass by Laguna Beach on your way to San Diego I would recommend stopping there. There are all kinds of unique shops and the beach itself is pretty nice. Not sure how far off the beaten path you want to go though.
