well, no one who knows how to do CPT that I'm going to be with (mom and bf aren't going, I'm visting extended fam) and I think I'll be flying...I took my vest on a bus trip once and it was HELL (pardon me), I fear an airplane trip would be the same :/ . I've also never dealt with my vest in an airport.

I know if there's no way around it, I'll bring it, but I'd really rather not because it just feels like it's more hassle than it's worth sometimes <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> .

Just get a justification note from your doc, it should get you through airport security without a problem. Better to bring it and feel good on vacation then risk it with out it and feel like crud. JMO

We are getting ready to go on a cruise and we are getting all the paperwork done so we don't have the hassle getting through security.

i've traveled extensively with my vest on airplanes and yes, it is heavy but i got a little roly duffel bag and i use that to wheel it around the airport with me which is SO much better than carrying that thing on my shoulder. yeah airport security can be annoying but you only have to go through it once! and they are accustomed to seeing medical equipment go through so it should not be an issue. i've never had a note from my doc, but i'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have one. good luck and have fun!
