Do you wear glasses for distance, reading or other? - Distance. I can see close-up just fine, but anything 30 feet away? Forget it!

Do you wear them all the time if for distance or other? - Yup.

How old were you when you first got them? - Hmm...I was in the second grade, so however old that made me ^_^

Has your vision worsened since first getting glasses? - Sure has. I probably need another checkup, come to think of it.

Do you have CFRD? If so did you at the time of first needing glasses? - Don't have CFRD *knock on wood*

Does anyone in your family wear glasses (CF or not, but specify anyway) and if so since what age and for reading, distance etc? - Everyone in my immediate family does, though I'm the only one with CF. Its a distance issue for everyone, though my father and I have the worst eyesight out of everyone.

Has anyone been told they have enlarged optic nerves? If so has anything other then checkups been required? - No.

Has anyone dealt with Glaucoma? - No.

Has anyone tried contacts? If so, do you find a problem due to the extra salt we deal with?? - I wear contacts more than glasses, actually. The only time I have to take them out is when I'm very tired or I cry. Then things start to get blurry and my eyes start to hurt. But I think that's pretty normal.

Hope this helps you out, Melissa!

Do you wear glasses for distance, reading or other?
all of the above, I'm nearsighted with astigmatisum (sp?)

Do you wear them all the time if for distance or other?
yes

How old were you when you first got them?
7th grade, thats around 13, I guess

Has your vision worsened since first getting glasses?
yes, a little

Do you have CFRD? If so did you at the time of first needing glasses?
No CFRD

Does anyone in your family wear glasses (CF or not, but specify anyway) and if so since what age and for reading, distance etc?
Immediate: yes, both of my parents, not sure about the age, but its for distance & reading. One parent is nearsighted and the other is farsighted. Brother should wear them only for night driving but dont.

Has anyone been told they have enlarged optic nerves? If so has anything other then checkups been required?
Never told that

Has anyone dealt with Glaucoma?
Not me

Has anyone tried contacts? If so, do you find a problem do to the extra salt we deal with??
Yes, I wear contacts. Extra salt isnt really a problem. Doing TOBI was a problem, it would stick to my contacts. I usually had to take them out and rinse with solution to clean them after my neb. However, I do have a problem with dry eyes because of my medication. I can only use Real Tears Eye Drops. Rewetting drops were not enough.

hey i probably need glasses but not very bad right now so i'm not gonna go get them because i don't want to become dependant on them and i don't want to have to wear them when i drive so for now i'm gonna do without. lookout for the crazy guy with texas plates that can't see to drive lol, i can see pretty well but seeing the board at school is getting progressivly harder and i'll probably have to give up and go get glasses but i'm gonna go as long as i can without them, i really don't want them

I wear glasses for reading/computer. I see pretty clearly but get eye strain and headaches if I don't wear them.

I was in 3rd grade when I first got glasses. But as kids do I stopped wearing them for a long time. I got them again when I was about 20.

My vision has not worsened.

Both of my parents and my brother wear glasses. My brother just for reading like me, my mom has astigmatism, and my dad wears his all the time.

I had contacts for a while. I could actually see better with them (with my glasses stuff far away is slightly blurry) but my eyes were always so dry that they were very uncomfrtable a lot of the time. I tried so many different kinds of drops and even the contacts made for people with dry eyes but nothing helped. My eyes were so dry that the contacts actually scratched the surface of my eyes.
