Hey Benthy

That is so encouraging and exciting! The researcher att he vx770 was saying some study was fast track from ph2 to ph3....I wonder if this is the study she was referring to, I wasnt sure if she was talking about the vx809, but now I'm thinking it might be this.

My oldest son will be starting the vx770 in two weeks...your results are very exciting. I kknow that another forum user was in the ph2 v770 and has df508xG55id, and there was some reference to the drug working on the df508.

Your response so far mirrors previous responses to thins drug on the g551d....we would all be very interested to hear updates from you.

Bear in mind that info re vertex isnt allowed to be discussed on open forums...pm us if you like. My younger son's fev1 was 92% so he may not be eligible for the study, they're just checking up on it.

I didn't realize that I needed to keep this study info confidential. I'm so sorry. I didn't give too much information in my post...just know that it's going well. I hope the Vertex police will forgive me for being excited!

Confidentiality concerns - vertex is asking all participants to sign a non-disclosure. I'm not sure why they're doing it, but it's not unheard of in the drug development world. It may have something to do with Vertex being a publicly traded corporation - not wanting study results to get mixed up with stock prices. Or it may be that Vertex (or the lead researchers) decided this would be the best way to keep results pure. Either way, it's best to just respect the decision I guess.

Benthyr, I wouldn't worry about the Vertex police <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
