Was it hard to tell your friends that you have CF?

Hey guys my name is Sofia. I'm 16 and I have C.F. I was diagnosed when I was a few months old and I have a new blog on Blogger.com and I was hoping to make it more of a discussion group kind of like this where we can give advice to each other and talk about having CF.

Anyway, I know that it's really scary telling people that you have an illness because you don't know if they will be mature about it or not. I am also at a disadvantage because I'm actually very healthy for someone with C.F. and so my friends don't see its danger. However, I just quickly explain to them that I just need to take pills, I have an illness and so on but sometimes people keep asking questions about it and it's really frustrating. I just like to tell them that it's hard for me to talk about. We are all at a huge disadvantage in the fact that C.F. isn't like Diabetes where everyone knows what it is. We always have to explain it. I'm right there with you though. I'm a junior in High School and I still am telling people who don't know that I have it.
