Hypertonic Saline. Fascinating how this drug came to market....read up on it when you have some time.

Ryan was put on HTS a couple of weeks ago, and it was similar to our experience with Pulmozyme....depressing! BUT, I am following my own advice to you, Carrie, and making myself realize that this is for the better!

My daughter started Pulmozyme when she was 10 months old... after she was hospititalized for pnuemonia. I felt the same way about suddenly feeling like she really did have CF... in fact I'll probably feel that way each time a new drug is added... but it has been a HUGE help to her... she's been sick free since she started it.... that was almost a year ago. It is a huge expense depending on where you live... fortunatley in PA the gov. picks up the tab. And as far as getting her to sit for it, she has recently discovered Elmo... so as long as we have Sesame Street taped, she'll sit forever!
Good luck!

We just went to clinic on Wed. Stacia had a wonderful appointment. Her weight was up two pounds, her pft's was the best. But yet we came out of there with four new med's. Then they were talking about the pulmozyme well stacia doesn't really have any lung problems hers is all digestive. Is this really something that we should even consider.
