Hi Leah,
Cold season is coming upon us<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">. When Maggie has a cold I try not to dry her up. I use the Simply Saline nasal spray 3% up her nose 3 times a day and have her blow her boogers out. Warm baths or showers to moisten the airway is good too. If the cough is keeping her at at night and she can't sleep I do manual CPT on her in bed. If it lasts for a few days, it usually means she needs some antibiotics to kick it. Oh, we also have Maggie on hypertonic saline neb twice a day to get the gunk out. If Maggie is really coughing, can't sleep I have used Delsym(just at night). I've only used it once or twice in her whole life with her pulmonary docs approval just so she can get one good night's sleep but it also means she has an exacerbation of CF if I'm pulling out the Delsym; which means she needs her antibiotics to kick it. Delsym is a cough suppressant. I would check with Reece's doc before giving it. I hope Reece feels better soon. Right now there are alot of colds going around with school starting and everything. My son's good friend stayed home from school with a bad cough/cold. An adult we know just got diagnosed with pneumonia and Maggie started nursery school today. I figure I have a week or two before Maggie starts up with some sort of respiratory bug. I love fall but I hate the colds.
