The only vitamin supplements I take are those that my doctor has recommended. If I find a specific type that I like, I check with the doc to make sure it's satisfying the requirements I need. I am severely deficient in all vitamin levels, which affects my physical and mental well-being. Here's what I take and why:
ABDEKS softgels (From SourceCF) 3 a day for general CF malabsorption issues
Oscal-Complete 2 a day for osteopenia
Vitamin B- helps with depression
Acidophilus-helps keep my gut from going nuts since I'm always on at least 2 antibiotics at once
Pancreacarb enzyme supplements- usual CF malabsorption issues
Here's an article about CF and Vitamin Supplements:

I've had many well-meaning friends recomend different herbal products or special drinks that are supposed to promote overall health, but I don't believe those will benefit me. I know where my deficiencies are, and I know which aspects of my health are impacted by different vitamins. I don't believe that there is one "magical product" that will be the end to all my problems. For some people, like my friend who has MS, perhaps it works. I'm just not willing to go that route.
Be careful about using things that do not have to go through an FDA approval process. I trust my doctors immensely, so I know they wouldn't steer me wrong when it comes to recommending supplements. Nonetheless, I'm still always doing what I can to educate myself and examine the chemistry of the human body to gain a better understanding of WHY we're deficient in vitamins and minerals, and what we can do to improve ourselves.
