What is going on with my son? ***Update he's being addmitted***
My Aidan had a PICC line at age 1, 2 and 3. I was a wreck in the beginning but once the PICCs are in, we take him right home and do all the IVs at home. It is so much better although you have to do all the work. Some people prefer the hospital because the meds are taken care of by the nurses but not us. Aidan is crazy active so the lest time in the hospital, the better! Best of luck. Aidan always felt so much better after the IVs. His first one was for 4 weeks for severe sinus disease.
