What next for our future?

Laurie,

Thank you for responding. Congratulations on your 3rd pregnancy. Worry is a hard thing not to do. So many just take for granted that they get pregnant and have a healthy baby. We know different. Although there is great joy in bringing another life into the world, it can also be a very scary thing. It is a good thing that God only gives us what we can handle.(even if we think differently sometimes)<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Will you have an amnio done?
I thought the same thing, that if one of our other children had cf, Kevin would have someone to relate to. We were also worried of how much to celebrate when we found out our 2 year old was negative. Kevin, being the wonderful brother that he is<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">, said he would never want his little sister to have to go through this, so it was okay to be happy that she wouldn't.

Thank you for your reply. No we are not going to get an amino done because it won't change anything, so we don't want to risk it. Darin never complains that his brother doesn't have it. Looks like we have to fine sons w/CF. Yes,it was hard to tell Darin at first that his brother didn't. He got upset at first but later said it was I'm not upset anymore and we left it at that. His Dr. thought we shouldn't bring it up anymore unless Darin does, but he hasn't. I told our family and friends don't get excited around Darinabout his brother not having CF. Great talking to you.

I guess noone really answered your question about sharing germs and such with having two kids with CF. I have thought about that and we just need to be careful. I'm not stressing about it if our 3rd does have CF. I know of 2 sisters that shared a hosp. room when they were in for a tune up. You just have to be careful. And I'm sure our Dr. will give us ideas too. Take care!
