WHEN IS IT TIME

I may have missed this somewhere but have you spoken to her CF clinic? What did they say? Typically when Sean has a persistant cough I just call the clinic and based on his last culture(s) they'll phone in an Rx.

WHEN IS IT TIME

I was out of town when the CF doctor was going to meet you at the local clinic -- otherwise it was 400 mile car ride (or plane trip) --- I must've missed the outcome of that and the culture results. Because her dad's in the military are you limited to that CF clinic or is there an alternative. With that kind of distance wouldn't there be one in NM or AZ that might be closer? Or are there any other CFers in your area that maybe go to a private pulmo or ID doctor?

WHEN IS IT TIME

If she is feeling this crappy, then yeah, it is probably time to bite the bullet and get some IV's done. I used to wait things out to see if they would get better but it always backfired for me. It would take much longer to bounce back and required alot more IV's...I grow cepacia and other friends but it is usually the cepacia that gets out of hand. Once it does that, then I know I am in for a long haul with IV's. Needless to say, I no longer use the see and wait tactic.

I do pray that Courtney feels better soon, please push those docs...a mom's instinct is usually right when it comes to their children.

Hugs to both of you, Jenn <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

WHEN IS IT TIME

Lauren has to get on the computer for homework so I will come back on later tonight and answer everyone's questions, but I thought I would update real quick.

I e-mailed Courtney's CF doc in San Antonio, and he e-mailed me back with a list of tests he wanted the doc to run today.

I printed it out and gave it to the pedi doc.

We think we have figured out what might be going on.

We think it is MONO. Her cousin was recently diagnosed with mono and when those two girls get together it never fails that they share drinks, eat the same food, etc.

I think they took half of her blood out of her today doing bloodwork...lol.

If these tests do not show us what is going on then it will be a 800 mile trip to the CF military clinic in San Antonio.

We should know what is going to have to happen within the next 48 hours.

Thanks to all for all of the advice!!
