why would a gay guy date a girl?

Somehow, I found myself wanting to add to your list...Like does he like show tunes? Madonna?Anyway, he may be gay, but he may not be. I have a friend who's husband is effeminate, but he's not gay. Sexuality ranges along a pretty broad spectrum. Sexual preference may not necessarily correlate to one's mannerisms or interests.

I think your friend, if she doesn't notice his mannerisms that you all see, then she would certainly know he lives in the gay part of town and if she is sleeping with him, she would know certain things about him that you don't know. At this point, he obviously is not totally gay on the Kinsey scale, as he can and wants to sleep with her.

It is not up to you to alert her to your suspicions. It's not like you know any additional information about him. And it's possible she will kill the messenger and not the message. Believe me she will not love you for telling her something she may be turning a blind eye to. It is her mistake to make and you cannot prevent her for being hurt. Your message will hurt her. She has to figure this one out by herself.

Let me just say I have NO problem with someone being gay.
So why do we think he is gay?:

-He using his hands alot when telling a story. alot of wrist action.

-He borrows HER sweatshirts to wear if he's cold.

-he holds his pinky out when eating a hamburger.

-he lives in an extremely openly gay part of town.

-his ringtone on his cellphone is a song by THE SCISSOR SISTERS.?</end quote></div>

A few of those things are ones I'd do, but I've checked my list twice and found I'm not gay.

I'd borrow her sweater, too, but not cause I'm cold as much as it would be something of hers that I'd like to wear (and she can wear one of my sweaters!)

I've caught myself with my pinky fingers sticking out when eating a burger, or even holding a mike, but that doesn't suggest gay either, does it?

Unless he sounds like a girl when he speaks, walks more feminine than masculine, and has a vanity about how he looks, I'd omit the possibility of being gay (and even that may not classify as being gay). However, the tough part is whether he's bi, and then she'd probably be included in his reindeer games.. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Oh, and Nightwriter, what do you mean by "Show Tunes" and liking Madonna? I used to like Madonna, but now its just a few of her songs that I still like. The only reason why I'd still like her is cause she grew up in the same State that I'm from...but then Steven Seagal is from the same State, too.

Liking Broadway tunes is the classic gay stereotype (if you believe in steroetypes, I don't) and Madonna is a gay icon like Bette Midler, Judy Garland and many others. Interesting you like Madonna and Steven Seagal. So you surely don't fit anyone's stereotype. I wonder if Steven Seagal likes Madonna. Or does Madonna like Steven Seagal? I thought Madonna was from Detroit.

I promise not to make any Steven Seagal jokes because I know how much you like him.

Actually, in the comedy movie "In and Out", there was something mentioned of show tunes, as well as the Streisand movie "Funny Girl" (I think that was the name of it).

Not sure if Seagal likes Madonna, but he does play the guitar...rumor has it he cut an album, but I don't plan on standing in line for his album, but maybe I'd stand in line if he was giving an Aikido Demo. BTW, thanks for refraining from making Seagal jokes...Chuck Norris facts are ok, tho lol

My only attraction to Madonna (if you call it that) is that she was from Bay City, MI, even though I was from Downriver Detroit (South Detroit, like the Journey song! LOL). I don't own a single Madonna album (but the wife does), nor do I have any idea what her latest tune is. Didn't know Midler and Garland were among the gay's
stereotypical profile. I never was much for them either...

Oh, and BTW, Seagal was from Lansing, MI. He lived in Osaka for a large part of his life learning (and teaching) Aikido. His "original" dojo is a 20 minute walk from where my ex's parents lived, and my former Aikido Instructor was a Senior Student to Seagal. When I last saw my former instructor, he mentioned that he occasionally works with Seagal's ex regarding their two dojos.

I also never cared for Stereotypes, especially when it causes misjudgement and bad feelings. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
