Took him grocery shopping with me last night and the food he picked out -- baby carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, watermelon and green apples. Just have to tell him it's all for dessert.

He did pick out some kids snacks -- crunchy cheetos and go-gurt.

I don't know what everyone else uses for their pediatric vitamins, but we use the CFSource stuff and it's bright orange, so. . .
You know you're a CF mom when you're constantly bleaching burp rags and they still come out orange, nevermind about the cute outfits that have the same orange spots all over them. Oh well, just another reason to go shopping <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Oh yes, I think we've all dealt with the orange stains! I was so happy when Vinny started chewable vitamins instead. Although this week they switched him to AquADEKs and I haven't picked it up yet. I hope it's chewable!

Let your child eat a slice of butter without anything with it at dinner because it is "good" for him.

When you change other children's diapers (or even your own non CF children) and make sure to pull their shirts out enough in order to watch out for their G tube.

Feed your child in the middle of the night

Squeeze your childs stomach at least a few times a day to make sure it isn't getting hard and distended.

No it is a good day when you open your child's room and smell rotten poop!

Have a counter full of meds lined up (and a frig too!) and have to keep finding a bigger container for them.

When the pharmacy doesn't ask for your name and birthdate anymore...they just know. (thankfully this hasn't happened)

When your new pedi has seen your son 3 times in the month that he has been a patient there

When your calendar is filled with different doctors appt.'s (next Thurs. Surgery, etc)

When you get the stares from other parents because your child is coughing and has a running nose and you want to scream "He has CF...want to donate!"

This is Fun!

Going to stay at a hotel for one night requires at least 4 bags.

You hear "You should take him/her to the doctor and get that checked out" or "That sounds horrible" at least once a day.

When you child is having a coughing fit, you dont freak out.

You feel that Kleenex and Charmin should give you free stocks.

Cheetos and soda are suggested before bedtime.

You have a hard time finding a bag big enough to hold all those pill bottles.

Hospitals, pharmacies and doctors offices are like 'Cheers'...everybody knows your name.

If your child wonders away from you in a store, you can locate them by the sound of their cough.

You can program an IV machine better than most nurses.

Your child can tell the nurse how to program the IV machine.

When you child is on IV therapy, so is her favorite doll.

If you are ever craving salt all you have to do is lick your cfer and you're good.

One of the best days in your life was the day she was potty trained.

Another best day was the day she was too "old" for the potty and started using only the toilet!
