Wow Janice, What an inspiration you are! If you don't mind me asking was your cf doctor encouraging of you keeping all three or did the request for a reduction ever come up? I was surprised at 64% FEV1 (going into pregnancy) when my doctor brought up that if I was to become pregnant with multiples he would only support me in a singleton pregnancy. I wasn't seeking fertililty help though so it wasn't something I had to concern myself with (too much) but still very thought provoking and scary as someone who wouldn't want to abort.

Hi Lauren! yes I was encouraged to reduce the pregnancy to a singleton...my cf doctors told me i would pass away if i continue the pregnancy with triplets and they made me an appt in New York with an specialist in reduction (I'm from Miami)but I had to do it when the babies were 12 weeks...I was immersed in a severe depression thinking I had to abort.. When I was 11 weeks i cancelled the appt..I couldn't do it...My whole family was upset ( or scared) my cf doctors called me talked to me they were very upset....it was the worst moment of my life!
I continue with my pregnancy and my docs told me that I didn't make the right decision but that they will help me all the way...which they did . I had to be hospitalized almost for 2 months but for controls only, I used O2 only the last week that I felt soo much pressure in my lungs. I also had to be in complete bed rest to prevent early delivery.
It's been 21 years I'm with my husband, we try many years to get pregnant with no results...when I was 32 years old I was Dx with cf so I stopped trying to concieve and started to try to adopt ...and I couldn't they would tell me my life expectency was short...so I went to a fertility doc and I tried 3 attemps with insemination and I got pregnant and lost it at 8 weeks...I did another insemination a year later and got pregnant with the triplets
It was very hard and scary what I've been through, it's a miracle the 4 of us are alive. The babies are doing very good growing too fast thanks god!
Lauren you are very welcome when ever you have a question!

I am the proud mother of a healthy son, Brighton. When I got pregnant in 2008 my FEV1 was around 50%. It is now around 40%, and I am desperately wanting another child. Does anyone have any advice? My doctor said it would not be a good idea for me to get pregnant again, so I have been trying to come up with other options. I am a single mom so adoption agencies pretty much rule me out when they see I'm single and that I have CF. Any feedback would be great!
