How do you feel on a daily basis?

Kristen, I must say I know EXACTLY how you feel. I've been on IVs for an infection with mycobacterium abscessus for the last 6 months and clearly, the abx aren't working. I have fevers on a daily basis, I get SOB very easily and could nap 7 hours a day. I'm still working part time and going to...

    Up Insulin while on Prednisone

Prednisone is MURDER on my sugars. I become so insulin resistant that even increasing all my insulin levels (I have a pump) by 200% doesn't help much. That makes me average 400 instead of 800. In the past, though, I have found that...

    Transplant & kidney damage

I don't have anything to add as an answer to your question, but I wanted to thank you for posting it! I'm not quite at the point of tx yet (PFTs in the 30s-40s) but I know I'm closer to that point than I ever seriously have been. I had the same thing happen with my kidneys and IV tobramycin...

    Question about CF'ers and alcohol

@ Havoc: I admire the scientific nerd in you (please do not be offended that I called you a nerd ). As a biologist myself, I love all of your posts and learn a lot from them! I had no idea we CFers tend to have a better tolerance for...

    SSDI and taxes

I get SSDI and have for a year now (a tax season's worth) and I honestly can't answer your questions. For me, I started getting payments in march of last year (including back pay). I got a letter stating what I would get monthly and...

    Enzymes

I've switched back and forth from Creon and Zenpep based on availability of the drug at my pharmacy. There was one time while I was in the hosp. that my CF doc thought I was taking Creon, ordered it, and then realized I was taking Zenpep. I just used the Creon that time until I got home. I never...

ABPA and flare ups are they alot

Yes, there is a point in taking both. The IV cortisone (steroid) is treating the inflammation/allergic reaction (what's causing your high IgE level), which is the "ABP" part of ABPA. The Itraconazole is an antibiotic (not a steroid) treating the aspergillus, the organism that is in your lungs...
