Hospital Indemnity Policy for CFers

I think these policies make a whole lot of sense if you have a potential need to use them (most Cfers), and/or if your existing family health insurance has high out of pocket expenses in regards to hospitalizations that you want to protect yourself from.

If you are perfectly healthy...

    SSDI and taxes

I think you are over thinking this and confusing yourself. :-) I believe how you should be reading this is that 85% is taxable at your tax rate based on your total household income. The other 15% is not considered taxable. They are not taking 85% for taxes. That is just the part you need to...

    How...?!? This is really overwhelming.

Just wanted to comment that the infusion time for Ceftazidine seems really long to me, but maybe that is due to her age/dose, etc. For me in hospital they infuse ceftazidine in 15 minutes, and at home they tell me to do it over 5 minutes. My does is usually 2 grams. Anyway, sounds like you...

    Coughing...right after IV's

Allergies? Maybe it is from your aspergillus? Are you on Prednisone? If not, I would try that instead of more antibiotics. Sometimes a round of prednisone does wonders for me, especially if I am getting symptoms sooner then I would expect after a round of abx.

Where did the post for hospital insurance go?

These insurance policies are great and a no brainer in my opinion. I now have 3 policies as I just got a policy through Combined as well. I guess you can never have too many of these.

    cayston- batteries or power cord?

I use the power cord when ever possible. I did find that when batteries start to get low, it does not have as much power making the neb take longer.

Home from the hospital and on IV's... a few questions :)

For me, I am usually feeling better in 3 or 4 days. After a full week I am usually feeling pretty good, much better than the weeks leading up to the exacerbation. After 10 days I am usually at 'peak' and then just waiting to finish out the round of IVs. It sounds like she is on a typical set...
