    Allergic against cats

I have a cat allergy and own one cat (it was two cats until last year). I take zyrtec for allergies and am getting allergy shots (I just started the shots a few months ago, so it's too soon for me to tell if they help). I also removed the carpet from the bedroom and don't let the cat in there.

Just for fun but CF related - Real things doctors have said to me in the hospital

Haha. These are hilarious. I think the worst for me was when I visited my college's student health center. The doctor listened to my lungs during an episode of bronchitis and said, "*****, Kristen, your lungs sound like *****." Very professional.

    ****Need Advice****

That sucks! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I switched from Advair to Symbicort because Advair kept giving me thrush. I have not had the thrush issues with Symbicort, and I don't notice a difference in how it helps my breathing. I think it would be worth at least...

    Ideas for venus

Cayston is for Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. I agree that you can't let CF dictate your life, but it isn't worth the risk to attend a benefit with other people with CF. Instead I can do something else fun (like go to a bar if that's what I want to do) and donate some money to the CF foundation. And...

Thank you for apologizing for the tone of your "yelling" post. I wasn't going to respond to that post, but I would like to respond to you now. I understand your feelings and think you have very valid reasons for feelings them. As a woman with CF who decided to get pregnant, I would like to...

    VX 770-will it help us?

That is great! I'd love to hear if any of you get into the trial. I'd love to, but can't because my husband and I are planning to try for another baby soon.

    Favorite exercises

Running! I also do the elliptical, bike, and/or stairclimber to give my joints a break, but nothing gets my heartrate up like a good run.

    vx770 for some other mutations!

Whooohooo! I just read this today: As Vertex prepares for the potential launch of KALYDECO for people with the G551D mutation, the company is also planning to begin additional studies of KALYDECO in children with CF as young as two years of age and in people with CF who have certain mutations...

    vx770 for some other mutations!

Yup! It's great news. I believe that VX-770 is going to be approved for all gating mutations in Europe. And, this year they are supposed to begin a clinic trail of VX-770 on people with gating mutations other than G551D. In addition they may include some other Class IV and/or Class V mutations.
