    prednisolone, red cheeks

I'm not 100% but I'm sure it's fine. I did have the flushed red cheeks for the first year or so I was on it. (It's used as a post transplant anti-rejection medication) It's definitely a side effect but I'm unsure why she is experiencing it this time around if she never has before. Keep us...

    Tragedy...

That is terrible news Pat :( My heart goes out to this family (L) Just goes to show that anything can happen to anyone at any given time...Cherish the moments you have while they last.

Making it financially ..... For the long run

I agree with this statement. Everyone on here is going to mention different things because of the sate they live in. We have had this subject come up numerous times. It's a very confusing process! I'm not exactly sure how significantly different each sate is. Although, I'm from ohio as well so I...

    to those with g-tubes

Same here! Maybe your rate is too high or the formula is too strong on your stomach? I took Nestle Nutren 2.0 for at least 3-4 years before we finally realized that's what was causing all of my stomach issues. They switched me over to Peptamen 1.5 and I've been doing fine ever since. It has...

    Blood sugar levels

I would do follow up with Endocrine just to be safe. Also speak with the CF team as well. Everybody should be able to work together if there is an issue. I started having more problems with my sugars soon after I had my G-tube placed and began tube feeds every night. Blood sugars are important...

    Need for oxygen

For me personally from what I can remember (since I was only 13) I think they did an overnight 02 sat monitor test to see what my levels were when I was sleeping. That's when I first needed oxygen. Then eventually (not sure about the time frame) I became increasingly to extremely out of breath...

    Transplant scarring

I'm sorry to hear about this issue you're having! I hope you're able to figure out a solution soon. I'm 6 years post transplant. My scar healed pretty quickly. It's barely noticeable! It's a long white line. (clamshell cut) I know they used a surgical glue and not stitches. I think that effected...

    Sterile

I guess if you were worried about getting someone pregnant then this would be a good thing to know. Even though I'm not a guy. It would pretty much be shooting blanks. ....Have a little confidence in yourself. Come on, a ten foot pole!?

    Sterile

You can definitely look into this issue very easily however, considering you're currently 16 you've still got a long way to go before marriage and a baby so I would enjoy life and try not worry about that right now. Although, I think most (if not, all) CF men are sterile.

Teens, what to expect for the years ahead?

You have so much time ahead of you considering your son is only 2. I wouldn't worry about anything right now if everything is working out smoothly. My parents raised me to live as close as I possibly could to others my age. I took dance classes for several years, I played soccer one year, I had...

    Questions for those with G-tubes

Pat, no question is a dumb question :) aspiringactress is correct though. You can still eat anything you want whenever you want. The G-tube is for EXTRA nutrition and is very helpful for hospital stays or sick days when there is no appetite.

New series has cf girl in it!!

I've heard of the show before. Haven't watched it. I watch so many other things on T.V.... Anyway, I agree! That would be using up SOO much portable oxygen. I was thinking the same thing Vera. I remember I had no energy in high school when I was waiting for a transplant. I was home schooled.

    Military

Pat's (azdesertrat) statements are very accurate, even for todays Military. (Since he is a bit older) I agree with Pat, I wouldn't be dishonest with the Federal Government on a document. I actually think the Military is stricter these days. I can give an example: I have a 19 year old cousin who...

Relationships.....how can you make it last?

Hi Semnie34, I completely understand when you are referring to feeling like you are nothing but a burden to him. I've been down that road myself. Little things he might say here and there will end up making me feel that way but we haven't that discussion for a while now. He insists that that...
