I differ just a bit from you ladies. I have been transplanted so being anti-social or introverted doesn't really apply because of lack of physical activity. (don't get me wrong, I use my new lungs!) Mine is more like, I stopped going to school when I was 12 and really missed a lot of high school...
I think this is a good subject to be brought to attention.
I'm in a similar financial situation like Kelli is. (setLOVEfree) I live with my boyfriend as well. I often become quite lonely while he's at work for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. I don't really have any friends that I actually hang...
I posted this on Facebook today but I know not everyone is involved with Facebook so I wanted to share it with everyone here as well! Today is my 6 year Transplant Anniversary date. I was transplanted when I was 15 years old. I'm now 21 years old :)
I'm very thankful for my donor and her...
I just had a thought... If it's too difficult for you to find the words you want to write through a letter then, maybe you can send them a sympathy card and sign your name with possibly a few extra sentences. Not sure if that's a good idea or not?
Hi there,
First of all, I know all transplant centers encourage you to write letters but it's not required. You don't have to at all, just like the donor family doesn't have to write if they chose not to. I can understand about feeling guilty. I feel the same way every time I sit down and write...
First of all, I'm very happy that she received her lungs!! Also happy for you and her family of course too :) Prayers to her donor family (L)
I praise you for standing by her through all of this. It takes someone special to be able to do that especially for the short time you've been dating...
Hi Jimiv-
I don't have complete answers to all of your questions but I'll do the best I can with answering what I do know.
I had a double lung transplant almost 6 years ago when I was 15 years old. After a few bumps in the road during the first year, I'm alive as ever right now :) I hate to...
I agree with what the other people have said, it depends specifically on the person. There are thousands of CF mutations and many other factors involved in each individual. I've never heard of the "18 year old rapid decline" as a true known fact. Like twistofchaos mentioned, that seems a bit...
For people who are replying in this thread or interested in joining the conversation....
Who is your favorite AND least favorite character on the show? (As of current season)
My current Favorite is Darrell and Michonne. and I totally can't stand the "governor" of the city and Andrea because...

I can understand your frustrations and emotional baggage. I can't imagine how much harder it is for the male with CF with feeling like they need to provide everything for their spouse/family. All I can say is, you are a strong man and I admire your strength!
Keep your head up (L)
Hugs...
We used to hold weekly chat nights but the rise of social networking websites has pulled people away from our chats. We tried really hard to keep it going...
I agree with that statement! ...I have no experience with this topic although, I have considered it myself and wondered the same thing since I'm also post transplant. I'm still very young so I have a while to decide.
Selling medical equipment as an individual (non company) is illegal. You might not get any responses here. I know of people who have donated/given Vests to others for free and only payed for the shipping costs. Use caution when receiving medical equipment. Such things as bacteria could still be...
I agree with Jenn. I really don't want to lock this thread. Bill, Champ and whoever else is typing on and on about things that are not related to the original post, please stop. If you wish to continue then, do so via PM's.
I'm so happy for you Kayla! :D I'm glad you posted to let us know. How old are you? You're a teenager right?
Thinking of the donor family as they cope with their loss (L)
I think we are all speaking of two issues in this topic 1) financial responsibility between two people 2) Health insurance coverage with marriage.
Tamara, I agree with the first part of your reply. Also, from what I understand (in my state anyways) your spouse can have a good job with not so...
