What do you do to limit bouts of sinusitis?

Yes, I'm actually having good results with the Puracyn hydrogel. I find it does a good job of moisturizing as well as having antimicrobial properties. I haven't seen my ENT in a while, so I can't comment on how my sinuses look on CT or with endoscopy yet. Nor can I comment on an endoscopy guided...

Big Nose Bleed-- on nighttime oxygen

Probably what you thought was a dried booger was, in fact, a scab (or attached to a scab) and you picked it loose. When I am feeling I am having a junky sinus morning, I spray a hydrogel up my nose, wait about 10 minutes and then blow. Works like a charm and if I do have areas of bleeding it...

    Pulmozyme in infant

There was a recent study that suggests that HTS is not effective in young children. You can find it a few posts back.

    Random Question

Gravol contains about 27mg of diphenhydramine (benadryl here in the States). Diphenhydramine is an anticholinergic and anticolinergics have a drying effect in the body. The result is that CF docs tend to shy away from anticholinergic therapy because it only dries mucus out and makes it harder...

Intravenous Ozone has greatly helped my sinusitis

I agree. Ozone would have the same problem that antibiotics do. It's in the bloodstream and we need something that acts on bacteria colonized mucus. As ozone is toxic to inhale, I would think this a poor choice. I suppose this could be an alternative treatment to IV antibiotic therapy, but...

Right, but if/when you do look out.

    Aspergillus IgE

When investigating for ABPA one of the things they check for is how sensitive you are to aspergillus. This can be a skin prick or a RAST (Radioallergosorbent test). I have a class 3 sensitivity at 7.01KU/L, she would be a class 4. the other things they look for are whether or not you are...

    Aspergillus IgE

noooo a RAST of 13 is a very high sensitivity to aspergillus.

    Problems with school

I had issues with dosing my enzymes and the school nurse in high school. My doc wrote a scathing letter to the school board and I didn't have any issues after that. He also wrote on a prescription pad that I was to be allowed to dose my enzymes myself and that I was competent to change...

    Chest Tightness, Thoughts?

When you say your PFTs are awesome are your referring to FEV1? How do your small airways look?

Does Kalydeco help you stay healthy?

Kalydeco helps your CFTR proteins function more normally. In the long run it could mean increased PFTs and increased mucus clearance. With increased mucus clearance, it would be easier to get colonized mucus out of the lung.

My aquagenic wrinkling factor test results.

Yeah, I'm the same way, I have amazing health for the most part, but I have been trying some of the things Incomudrox has had success with. I have seen results similar to his, although not quite as dramatic (yet still noticeable). I have to admit I was surprised, coming from a skeptic point of...

My aquagenic wrinkling factor test results.

Anyone else find it interesting that kalydeco (very expensive) and some of the supplements (relatively cheap) Incomudrox is taking have the same effect when it comes to aquagenic wrinkling?

IV antibiotics periodically or as needed?

That is changing(or should be) as new research is presented. There was a thread a few weeks ago about this.
