    10K in New York, 2012

My sisters and I want to do a CF 10k in New York that's in July; it's the 2nd annual Boomer's CF Run to Breath. I've done a 5k before, but didn't run it straight, and my mile time is pretty sucky (like 11:30!), but it's definatly a goal of mine. My oldest sister has already been running 6 miles...

do you ever get better on your own?

hmmm, I was very similar to you last year. my baseline was in the 90s, then towards the end of junior year and all throughout senior year it just kept dropping, and dropping, and dropping. I had my very first hospital stay for IV antibiotics, over Christmas junior year, and again after...

    Difficulty LOSING weight

I'm the same way, more or less. The only time I ever saw dramatic weight loss was in the pits of an ED, with 200-300 calories a day and terrible exhaustion to boot. I hadn't heard anything about the gene mutations being a part of it though.... can you elaborate maybe? I believe I'm delta F508...

    Tap Water

I've always rinsed with tap water and only after I got my caystin did I even consider sanitizing anything. I don't really believe in it, since my nebs aren't getting ground into the dirt or dipped into the toilet (though what you do with your nebs is your business...) I've even rinsed them in...

    My teeth are gross...

I had Tetacycline as a baby and my teeth have always had these white, bleached looking spots to them. BUT. My last hospital stay I was taking 2 new IV antibiotics and I think they totally f**ked up my teeth. It looks like I have brown crap in-between them all the time, and my back molars are...

You are a patient. You have rights. Speak up.

Personally, my parents have always been my advocates and would take turns staying with me in the hospital. But as I'm getting older they're letting me take the reins more, and my incident occurred the very first time that no one else was with me. My older sister, who is a pharmacist, was so...
