My daughter was the same way. She was fussy as a baby and was in the 90th percentile until it showed up on a check up at the age of 4 that she hadn't gained any weight in a year.
We went through all this stuff with food and milk allergies and asthma with the doctors until she was finally...
Yeah but is anybody besides "save ferris" on kalydeco and not have a gating mutation. She just has really good insurance that covers any prescription that a doctor writes. I think the majority of deltas would have a hard time getting their insurance to cover the tab on kalydeco but what the hey...

My daughter's only four so I don't think she's old enough to get it anyways. But it was the CF doctors at our center in Seattle who said she'd have to wait for 661 or 809. Has anybody with DF508 been able to get the drug through medicaid since thats what we have for her right now?

Our daughter's first test was 120 and her second was 58. This caused her to be mis-diagnosed until the age of 4 so I would definitely get the sweat test done!

Bill:
You are incorrect. Having delta f508 will NOT allow you to get kalydeco. Kalydeco goes to fix the class 3 gating mutations like G551D. The deltas are just going to have to wait to see if vx 661 or 809 does the trick.

I would imagine that if you participated in the phase 2 portion of the trial then you would be invited back for phase 3. I'm also guessing that it will be effective to some degree since they used high throughput screening to detect it just like they did with vx 770 and 809. There's just not alot...

Well that is just horrible news...The CF center at Seattle Children's is really good and highly ranked. I don't know what to say. Why is the UW so bad?

I just couldn't watch it. Caitlin (drdanika) recorded it and tried to watch it the next morning but once I heard the coughing and saw the hospital room I made her turn it off. I watched 65 red roses and it was just too much. I still have images of her lung transplant stuck in my head and how...

Wow! When you put it so elegantly like that I truly see where you are coming from. I guess as a democracy, government is all of our responsibility and if politicians make bad decisions or become corrupted by power then we all have to suffer the consequences. I'll try to do a better job of paying...
I don't think this country is turning marxist. If you look at real communist countries like North Korea where people aren't even allowed to own cell phones or access the internet then I think we still have a lot of freedoms.
